Why did you choose St. Joseph’s?
I chose this program for a variety of reasons, but what stands out most to me is the breadth of training and experience as well as the relationships/dynamic between residents from the 3 classes and the attendings/faculty. It was clear to me on interview day that the residents receive ample time in essential parts of family medicine such as outpatient practice, inpatient medicine, and obstetrics. Their level of comfort when discussing the areas was evident. I also felt that the residents, no matter what year, were incredibly approachable and easy to talk to. The same went for the attendings and I can honestly say with absolute certainty that I feel comfortable approaching every resident or attending/faculty member to ask a question and seek advice or guidance. This is not only with regards to patient care, but also career decisions or just questions about life in general.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
I enjoy going on adventures with my wife, whether it’s taking a day trip to the Adirondack high peaks for some hiking or biking around one of the finger lakes. I also enjoy playing the drums and acoustic guitar and also joining friends to do so at my church in Syracuse.
